I'm having issues with installing TiVo Desktop on my computer.

I have a MacBook running Windows. Tivo Desktop for Mac works fine when using OSX.

I've installed the PC version of TiVo Desktop in Windows so that I can use TiVo to Go (I've even bought a product key to upgrade to the Plus). Once it installs and tries to open (automatically), I get an error message for the TiVo Server saying "Element Not Found". I press OK to exit out of that, I've then tried opening up TiVo Desktop from the shortcut on my desktop, I get an error message for TiVo Desktop saying "Unable to begin Tivo Desktop Element Not Found".

If I restart the computer in Windows mode, the same thing happens. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times to no luck.

It's bad enough that TiVo doesn't have TiVo to go for Mac (and I know other Mac users are feeling my frustration there), but it's really maddening to experience this with an operating system I'd rather not be using. Can anyone offer any advice as to how to get Tivo Desktop/Server/etc up and running on my computer? Let me know if I left anything out that could help trouble shoot the problem. Thanks.

You should check out TiVoDecode Manager (http://thebenesch.com/tdm/). Someone cracked TiVo's encryption screen and wrote a small program that allows you to decode .tivo files to standard MPEG files using Mac OSX. It even has the ability to transcode to MPEG-4 for playback on iPods, and it's completely free.

that is beyond awesome that somebody made that program while tivo drags their feet... thx for the link!

FYI looks like I had the exact same error on my PC earlier this morning & was finally able to get my TiVo Desktop software up & running this afternoon- I posted easy instructions HERE (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=340455). I know you're running on a Mac in Windows (and you posted over 40 days ago), but I hope this helps... someone!

Dan203 (or anyone else), is there anything like TiVoDecode Manager for a WinXP maching that you know of? Thanks!
