What to do with unused TiVo Series 2 box ?

I no longer have DirectTV...

I have an 2-3 year old Series 2 box. What can I do with it ?
Is there any hacks out there making it a generic video recorder ?

I now have FiOS TV.

series 2 = no service, no function, no dice

you can only do 30 min live buffer and pause and rewind on that, that's it

If it is a Directv TiVo, you can only play what has been previously recorded. It cannot be used for anything else, because the box records the digital feed direct from the satellite.

Sell them on ebay - they're worth about $ 50 each with remote.
