I don't know if this should go here or in the Tivo help forum. I guess if it gets moved I'll know my answer. :)

my parents just bought me a dual tuner standalone with the three year service plan. it should be here in a week or so. I already have 2 DTivos in my living room and this new unit will most likely end up there as well. if I do put it in my living room with the others will the only thing that I have to do be to change the remote address on the new unit? or is there something else? does anyone have both a DTivo and a standalone?

Yes to both questions. I have a standalone and 2 D-TiVos in the same room and you'll want to cover the IR sensor ports on your D-TiVo(s) until you've assigned the address on the standalone.

You will also need a regular DirecTV receiver to connect the stand alone Tivo to. It will not control a DirecTivo. Also, you will not be able to use the dual tuner functionality of the standalone. That is designed to work with cable.
