Hey there. I've been looking around recently at options for upping my DVR. I've had an R10 for 2 years and I love it, but I'm ready for more. At the very least, I'd like more space. It would also be nice to be able to pull shows off onto a PC and access it from my other TV in another room.
What's my best option? If I get a 2nd used R10 on eBay or Craigslist, can I just piggy back it onto the one I have? Should I call DirecTV and ask for a new unit? (It won't be Tivo if I do that though, I think...) Should I get a completely different new unit from online somewhere? Should I hack it to upgrade? Should I hack my extra PC into a media center with a Hauppage card and MythTV or something?
Looking for good advice, and there are clearly a lot of people here who really know what they're talking about. Whaddya got?
