tivo to directtv

I am new to the forum.... I have a small problem.. I have been waiting to buy tivo, but I did no research.... oops... I have direct tv and I sadly found out that it will not run two tuners with satalite. Has anynoe written a hack to change a regular tivo box to accomidate? Or is this a hardware issue?

Right. The dual tuner standalone Tivos can only use control one Cable Box or Satellite Receiver on their AUX inputs. You can use a second basic cable input, though. There are no modifications/hacks to work around this. You would probably be much happier with a dual tuner DirecTV/Tivo or even one of the newer non-Tivo DirecTV DVRs.

Or go find a DirecTV DVR with TiVo box (but not the R15 model).

If you're lucky to find a R10, get it. It handles dual-tuner stuff beautifully. You can find one on eBay or Walmart.
