rather than hijack a thread, decided to post this info request on it's own....

Been happy with Qwest VDSL for the last few years. Made an impulse
buy over the holiday break, and purchased a DT Tivo. From some of
the searches on the board, realized that the 2nd tuner option is out of
the question for Qwest.

I currently have the Tivo installed on my Wireless LAN. Went smooth.
My Qwest VDSL gateway box is in another room, away from any TV's.

I presume I need the Gateway box to hookup the Tivo up? Obviously, can't
connect it straight to the coax, (tried that with no luck).

What are my options to get Tivo to work with Qwest VDSL?

- install a 2nd gateway box on my primary TV?
or
- punt, and go with Cox?

Really like my internet & phone access too, (yep I know Cox's offers
that too). Just curious.

Thx.

Install the TiVo where the gateway is. That means relocating either. in the case of relocating the TiVo, you will need to get a remote extender, and perhams a channel 2-3-4 filter to combine the TiVo RF out with the other two RF channels from the gateway.

I'll have to move the Tivo into the room with Gateway. My LAN/WAN connection is in that room
too, no way to move the Gateway box.

Any suggestions for the remote extender? Something to pickup at CC, BestBuy, or Radio
Shack?

thanks for the info.

where would one go get a channel 2-3-4 filter? Radio Shack? CC?

I believe my VDSL gateway uses channels 6, 7, and 11 or 13 for the three TV's we
have connected in the house.
