S2DT "Basic Cable Connection Lost" Message

I setup the TiVo (S2DT) and I am getting a message when I try to use the "watch live tv" option that says TiVo has lost the signal to the basic cable connection. I have the coax into the spliter from the wall and then back into the cable box and also into the TiVo unit, TiVo is updating through my home network just fine so I know that is not the problem.

The tv itself has to be on channel 4 to watch, not sure if that has anything to do with it? So of course I have to select the TV/COMPONENT option on my tv remote to access TiVo. It picks up all the channels fine but I cannot access them?

I spoke with TiVo support last night and they informed me that they do NOT support the Motorola RG 2000 box as of yet (claimed it was to new) and said I should ask my service provider if they have any older receivers.
