I've been trying to catch Mission Impossible III all week. And maybe even Over The Hedge. But it seems you can't schedule these to record until right before they start. And it's not like they schedule these all day like the SD channels. Typically they seem to run overnight & early in the morning. Am I supposed to set my alarm to I can get up and set my TIVO to record?

Seriously, what the point of wasting bandwidth on an HD PPV channel if it's all but impossible to watch?

Yes. That's the way it is done on my HR10. My only gripe is that they have about 1/100th the offerings in HD as they do in SD. In the 18 months I've had my HR10, I have only found 3 offerings that even mildly interested me. But then, DirecTV has probably only offered about 50 different shows (maybe fewer) on PPVH. :(

Often times this doesn't work...it won't allow you to purchase it for some reason (through the guide). I've found if you try it again near the time the of the show, it will work.

But setting it a day or 2 in advance is sometimes impossible.

You should be able to purchase the movies further in advance than the night before. I was having an issues recording Over the Hedge so I called DTV. They gave me the movie for free. I was then able to order MI3 a couple days in advance with no problem.

I just don't understand why they only show HD PPV movies when most can't watch - in the middle of the day. They never have HD movies on Weekends!!! Plus, I would like to see more movie offerings than the 3 or 4 per month.

The HD PPV (like TNTHD) is exempt on weekends to free up bandwidth for the NFL ST games.

This is a tad crazy. I've seen the scheduled time for the early Saturday showing of MI:3 change twice in nearly five hours. Are these times not normally somewhat fixed?

D*TV HD ppv IS a joke. It's been like that as long as I can remember. Movies only on when you aren't around, limited titles and showings AND you can't really schedule them ahead of time to watch later. Damn, isn't that the point of an f'ing DVR?

I was stunned when I first discovered this crap. But, at least, there are 50 shopping channels and CD USA and lots of "Christian" channels. um...

Sunday Ticket with comp'ed SuperFan is their only saving grace.

War UltimateTV. Ah, the good old days.

And it's changed yet again. The HD channel 95 is showing MI:3 now (though the guide references NFL Game of the Week).

And their HD PPV movies are not closed captioned.

Disgraceful.

So you cant buy them online. I just purchased the Nascar hot lap package online and all of my receivers say authorized. I realize this isnt a PPV movie.
