I just got a S3 last week and transferred my lifetime to it. I have to say I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I've had HDTV for over 4 years now, but S3 gives the best picture quality of all the turners that I've used.

Anyway, so I know that after 1 year I would be able to continue the subscription on my S2 at month-to-month rate of $6.95 since I've had it before they announced the rate change. However, if the account is transferred to someone else after the first year, will that person be able to continue enjoying that rate without committing to 3 years of service?

Thanks.

Nobody really knows.

TiVo might be bought out by Comcast by then.

Don't sweat it now.

Not sure how you are going to transfer that box to someone else.

If the box is kept on YOUR account and you don't interrupt service, you'll be eligible for service at the $6.95 MSD rate.

Good catch.

As soon as it changes owners, its a new plan unless it's replacing a box at it's new home.

This is about the only market for a used 540 anymore... to replace a failed box on someone else's account.
