Today I noticed that I lost tuner 2 on my #2 S3.

I was re-connecting the rooftop antenna to the S3 and comparing signal levels with the little wing antenna sitting on top my of entertainment center.

When I was all done I went back to the S3 and found that I could tune anything I wanted on tuner 1. Tuner 2 was 'searching for signal' be it cable or antenna. It first I was sure I had yet another one crap out  .

For good measure, I rebooted the S3. What do you know, I have two functional tuners again.

I haven't seen this on the other two S3s, but I'll keep an eye on it. Anyone else experience this?

Today this took a turn for the wierd...

Today tuner 2 (again) got 'stuck' on a channel. It said it was changing the channel, and the banner updates like the channel changed, but it's still on the old channel.

Again, re-starting the S3 fixed it.

I'll call support, see what they say...

It's happening again today. I called Tivo and am on the phone with them now.

Basicly, tuner 2 won't tune anything cable or off-air. Tuner 1 works fine on both.

Tivo tech support first asked me what kind of cable-cards I have in the unit to which I replied 'none'. Analog + OTA.

Then he came back and said the system thinks that this Tivo is setup in the system as off-air only and advised me to re-run guided setup.

I'm doing that now, in spite of it showing correctly in the system information screen.

I took some terrible pics I'll attach...

Tuner 1 watching ATSC off-air 10-1:

Hit 'Live TV' and see Tuner 2 trying to (and failing to) record a season pass for Six Feet Under:

Switch back to tuner one and change the channel to say 12-1. Then switch back to tuner two and tune 10-1 that we were just watching on Tuner 1 (You have to do this or it'll just change tuners instead of changing the channel):

Finally, tune that cable channel the season pass was trying to record on Tuner 1:

The point of all this... It isn't a signal problem. It's a Tivo problem. Rebooting the Tivo cures it temporarily.

Maybe 8.1 will fix it... but I don't want to be out of warranty before we figure that out.

Called Tivo to let them know that re-running guided setup did not cure the problem.

They had me re-run guided setup again, this time with the off-air antenna disconnected and setup the S3 for cable only.

Guess what? Same picture problem on tuner 2, and now tuner 2 is stuck on channel 34. The banner says the channel changed, but the video displayed is always ch34.

Re-booting will cure this in the short term, but I'm on the phone with them now to see what advice they can give.

Here's hoping for replacement box #2 for S3 #2.

They had be re-run a part of guided setup and change my lineup. Now I need to re-scan for QAM - bleh!

Once that was complete, tuner 1 was stuck on channel 14 and tuner 2 was stuck on channel 34. The channel banner would change, but the video was stuck on the respective channel.

Re-booting the S3 cured it, big suprise.

They want me to exchange it.
