I just bought an S3, and reading about all of the CableCard 2 and SDV initiatives is making me a little nervous about my "investment."
I understand A) the S3 will never gain CableCard 2.0 interactivity due to hardware and B) That we're really all just guessing.
That said, since the DCAS that the CableCos seem to be pushing is a software implementation, is there any hope that Tivo will be able to incorporate it into the S3? I'm not talking about marketing-wise or in terms of them wanting to sell me an S4 in two years, but technically. Based on the little we know about DCAS (or just the little I know) would it technically be possible for Tivo to use it instead of a cablecard?
Or, should I just stop worrying?
