I searched the forums but couldn't find this problem - sorry in advance to the people who will find the right post ;-)

I am trying to install the 2.3a with the MCE plug-in. I have a Centrino Duo laptop which the page on tivo say will work although they seem to prefer the Viiv.

It installed without error, but when I launch the app inside of MCE I get a screen that says I don't have a Viiv proc or my Viiv configuration is bad.

Tech support says that they have not heard of this issue and asked me to reinstall, which I did with the same result.

Any idea's?

Actually I was able to find a way to have it skip the Viiv check. the program works now although I waiting to see any programs come up on my other boxes to transfer. If it works like the normal tivo desktop I think I just have to wait a few hours and it all sync's up.

How did you get it to skip the viiv check? I run MCE 2005 on an AMD processor and would love to tie it in with tivo.

How did you get it to skip the viiv check? I run MCE 2005 on an AMD processor and would love to tie it in with tivo.

There are two files in c:\TivoDesktop\Scripts
Default.js
BasicFunctions.js

They each have lines in them that check for Viiv, or specifically "Non-Viiv". It looked to be just a text compairson so I changed them both to "XXXNon-Viiv" and since my system is "Non-Viiv" and not "XXXNon-Viiv" it passed the test.

I can now navigate to all the pages and see the other S2's on the network, but so far I have not been able to the lists of programs to transfer to show up yet.

I didn't feel bad about changing the scripts as it say's on the website that it is supposed to work with Centrino Duo computers (mine).

Let me know how it works out for you.

On the TIVO website they have made available 'desktop 3.2 VIV' I have a Dell laptop Centrino Duo which I have installed the plugin 'Bonjour for Windows". I have checked my firewall and that program is allowed. I still can't seem to get this working. Please give correct steps in setting this up. According to TIVO you can use this system w/ my current setup even though I don't have Intel VIV.Well now, when I open Media Center and click on TIVO the message displayed is:system does not appear to be an Intel Viv platform or your intel viv environment has not been installed properly.I don't believe I have missed a step as far as installing the Bonjour program. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it to make sure
