Hi folks,

I'm trying TivoToGo for the first time. It seems to take about 2 hours to transfer a 1/2 hour program to my computer... is that normal? Seems darn slow to me...

I'm using a home network and the Tivo is connected via wireless....

Many thanks,
Allen

That is a little slow for a best quality recording transferring on a wireless network with a third party network adapter with limited or no interference. If you have interference issues, you can speed things up by changing channels or removing the device that is causing the interference.

Wireless B?

Hard wire. Upgrade to G. There are a lot of steps you can take to improve transfer speeds.

2 1/2 hours is quite slow, unless you are using your PC and doing something that is heavy on the CPU or using the network for the internet, other items, etc. Not that it should slow things down that much, but those things do impact transfer speeds.

Yes, I'm on wireless B. I thought that Tivo Series II could only handle wireless B adapters (those were the only ones listed on the "acceptible" list in my manual).

How fast does it typically transfer with hard wire? (probably can't do that 'cause they're on opposite sides of the house)

How fast does it go with wireless G...and how do you set that up?

Many thanks,
Allen
