I bought a series 3 HDTIVO and have it connected to my television using component cables. Does the HDMI cable work better or should I just leave it connected with the component cables?

This seems to be a towmaytoe, tomahto sort of thing. If you want try each one and see which one you like best. I've tried both and can't tell the difference.

You're in the wrong forum. You want this one (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=51).

As said above, a lot depends on the equipment in question, particularly the TV. My own experiments show a definite advantage to HDMI and for me, since the TV is a 25-foot run away from the TiVo. a single HDMI cable is much easier to run than three component cables.

I hook up both since my set won't zoom progressive material and since my HDMI won't do 480i. This lets me switch to component and 480i to zoom letterboxed shows broadcast on 4:3 channels such as SCI FI.
