anyone using HR10 with Panasonic AX100 front projector? I have it connected via HDMI cable. The picture is really, really soft, no matter how I adjust the projector. On the other hand, the picture is shapr when I play back HD-DVD and Nintendo Wii, or even a standard-definition DirecTV R10 DVR(at 480i)....
Is there something wrong with my HR10? I tried it with my other HR10 and the picture is just as soft.... Strangely, when I asked on the AVS forum, none of the AX100 projector owners report the same thing....

Don't take this the wrong way. But, you do have the HR10 outputing in 1080i?

I have an HR10-250 connected to a Panasonic AE-900U projector and the picture is great. When watching a good HD feed, everything looks perfect. How have you calibrated your picture?

Yes, my HR10s are all outputting at 1080i. :)
I had the AX100 exchanged 4 times in two weeks by Costco. All of them have
this really soft picture "problem"..... the programs being played back range from
NBC's "Today" & "Late Night with Jay Leno" to HDNet's space shuttle launches
and random movies in HD. It's almost like the picture is slightly out of focus...
but like I said, the pictures from Toshiba HD-DVD player, Nintendo Wii(480p) and
DTV R10(SD, 480i) are all very sharp and in focus..
I even brought out my 4-year-old InFocus al-cheapo projector...(via HDMI-DVI)...
and its picture is also much sharper than the AX100...
I'm probably just gonna give up and return this fifth AX100 to Costco next week... :(

Have you tried connecting it via the component cables? What is your lamp setting on? Do you have the dynamic iris turned on? What kind of screen do you have? Viewing distance? What kind of calibration have you done?

I have not heard the HR10-250 giving a soft picture in an AX100 projector. I am interested in this thread as I just recieved my AX100 but am not going to be hooking it up until May when my new house/home theater will be completed.
I am interested to see any other posts. You may want to post your question over in the AVS forum offical AX100 thread.

Try changing your HR10 to output 720p... I run mine through an AE900U which is 720p native (as is your AX100) and 1080i looks soft.
