TiVo Desktop 2.3 Glitch?

I'm using TiVo Desktop 2.3 and about once a week it stops working and I get an error message that says " Beacon not running". I try restarting and all I get is a black screen and the same error message keeps popping up. I eventually have to delete the program and reinstall it to get it working again.

Obviously something is corrupted somewhere...is it me or is it 2.3 ?

Look at the TiVo Desktop 2.3a "Read Me" file. There are instructions on how to turn on logging for all the TiVo services. If this happens again, include the log file for the TiVio beacon service. You can also check your windows event viewer "EVENTVWR" for an error code showing why the service quit or did not start.

Are you running any sort of software firewall? It may be blocking the beacon.
