does anyone use 50-ft HDMI cable with the HR10-250? If so, are there any
possible problems?
I'm currently using a 35-ft HDMI cable and it works fine, but I want to
relocate my HR10-250...
Thanks!

can always go with baluns over cat 5 -- very long runs are no problem.

Yes, I use a 45 foot HDMI cable. No problems. Don't remember who I bought it from. I think... PC cables.

I successfully use a 50' 22AWG HDMI- to-DVI Cable from Monoprice.com. (much cheaper than a 3' Monster cable from Best Buy)
At that long length, I would stay away from the thinner cables. You should also avoid the use of adaptors.

I just have to ask : if your HR is 50 feet from your TV, how do you watch the TV when changing channels??? :)
I am sure there most be some reason for this, it just seems funny. Like are you going up to the roof, accross the room, down the wall? But even then, where do you aim the remote?? :p :p

When you say "avoid the use of adapters" do you mean baluns? They are a reliable and practical way to get 5,000 foot runs out of cat 5 cable. 50 feet is a sneeze.
At long lengths, cable cost is largely about the cost of copper. Big, fat, long cables are a waste when a cat 5 cable can carry 100Mbs / second -- or 2 to 10x more -- which is a large multiple of the bandwidth needed for HDTV + audio.

For my set up, all my components are out of sight behind my sitting area. I had to use longer (50 foot plus) cable runs to my display.
I use a universal remote that sends an RF signal, so it doesn't matter how the remote is pointed.
Both the HDMI cable, and component cables seem to work fine.

I am using a 35 footer from Monoprice.com. I am using the 24 guage cable I believe, and the picture looks FANTASTIC!
I have several cables from Monoprice, and I have not been dissapointed.

I just received a 50-ft HDMI cable from monoprice an hour ago.
When I connected it to my HR and my Panasonic AX100 front projector,
I got no signal. I unplugged everything and tried a few more times...
still nothing.... Then I re-connected with the old 35-foot Monster
HDMI cable, the picture immediately came back...
Next, I took the 50-ft HDMI cable and hooked up my Sony HDR-V1U
high-def camcorder to my Samsung LCD TV... also no picture... The TV
kept saying no signal detected. I tried with a cheap 6-ft HDMI cable,
then the camcorder's picture came on immediately....
Before I contact Monoprice..... do you guys think the casue is the
length of the 50-foot HDMI cable, or simply a defective cable?
Thanks!

I think you guys are pushing your luck with a 50 foot HDMI cable. One I ordered would not work either, so I went back to a 50 component. Read the following article:

I think you have a bad cable. My parents use an HD Tivo and a 50 foot HDMI cable into their Sony LCD HDTV. It works and looks great.
