I have a Pioneer stereo receiver. The button to select the audio and video inputs from input VCR1 also triggers the menu (DirecTV Central) on the HR10-250. I am unable to select the input on the receiver without also losing the picture on the television to the menu.

For those who are familiar with JP1 codes, the input button for the stereo receiver remote and the Menu button for a Hughes Tivo are both EFC-058, OBC-15, and Hex 0F.

Any solutions?

Thank you.

I'm not familiar with JP1 codes, but have you tried changing the Tivo remote address?

I have changed the Tivo Remote address to every number from 0-9. The problem occurs at each different remote address.

Abandon video 1 on the receiver, or use a macro to go to it from another input.

Unfortunately, after seeing your reply & thinking about it, changing the remote address would NOT have done any good. Since I'm assuming you originally had your Tivo on address 0 & since 0 is the master address that will override ALL other addresses on any Tivo box, if the offending remote is sending out a command on a 0 code, changing the address in the Tivo would not have done any good.

Sorry for the bad advice... :o

Use JP1 to set up a macro that both selects the audio and video inputs from input VCR1 and goes back to live TV on the Tivo. If you need you could set a second macro for when you're watching a recorded show to add in the (1) now playing (2) play the show (what you're watching shold be highlighted unless it's in a folder (3) resume playing.

More simply, you could buy a different receiver. I had to get a different dvd player because it's remote control affected the operation of my 37'' Westinghouse LCD monitor.
