HR20 OTA Question [Text View]

I just purchased an HR20 and got it hooked up. I have (2) coax off of the dish to the unit and another off of the rooftop antenna to the unit. I get the local channels that come through the dish, but there are not any OTA HD channels on the guide.

Also when I go to setup and select Antenna setup it is grayed completely out and cannot be selected.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Since it's not a TiVo, you're better off at our sister site www.dbstalk.com
The quick answer is the HR20 doesn't work with OTA out of the box, you need a software upgrade that is rolling out right now...

Congratulations on getting the HR20.

You'll really like it I'm sure.

It's not a TiVo, but who cares.

You'll soon learn a DVR doesn't HAVE to be a TiVo to make you happy.

I'm happy with my HR20. I've never wished it was a TiVo.

Yur unit should (or has by now) updated. Just attach an antenna, hit Menu>>Setup>>Sat/Ant Setup and run through the quick wizzard.

dbstalk is a much better place to learn about this stuff though.

The new software with OTA enabled is being sent out nationally now, but that doesn't mean yur :) unit will have it already. It might have it now, it might have it a few days from now.

It should be on everyone's active system by now.
If you are installing a new one, it should install with in a hour of activation.
