The answer here is probably RTF FAQ. I apologize in advance. But... I have 20 other things going on and would appreciate a little charity. Like trying to find a job, after quitting my other one. In fact, I worked for a large computer company who ran the billing systems for DTV. =I can tell you, they will never do anything to enhance the old DirecTivo's. If they can't make HUGE amounts of money at something, they won't bother.
Anyway. I have 4 Tivos. I'm pretty sure they are Series 2. The two that record 2 channels at once, I still have on subscription. The other 2, I canceled. Just got tired of paying the monthly fee. I've got a couple of computers that run BeyondTV, using the Snapstream guide, which costs nothing.
I found that once I cancelled the subscription on 2 of the Tivo's, I can do almost nothing with them.
Is there anything to be gained by hacking them? Or should I just turn them off and stack them next to my cassette deck and multi-cd player in the basement?
Thanks in advance for any help,
Patman
