Hello all. It's me from years ago.

I'm still around and still have my TiVo (Only got one TiVo now and not two) sitting upstairs on a Sky Mirror Sub (Plus a Sky+ box downstairs and a Sky+ box elsewhere upstairs...) but I still prefer Mr. TiVo. I've been busy for a few years at work but have looked in from time to time to see if TiVo is pulling out of the UK and they still appear to be staying here for their legacy users.

ANYWAY: Due to an odd chain of events I ended up changing my bank account and didn't tell TiVo (forgot). This meant my TiVo account was 'closed' - I phoned TiVo (Sky) up and they took payment and set up my Direct Debit again.

That was done at 18:30 today. The bloke at Sky/TiVo said it would take about half an hour to filter through to the server.

I forced a daily call at 19:05 and it connected, set the clock and hung up. The account is still showing as "8 - Closed, call" I tried it two minutes ago and the same thing happened.

Does anyone know when it should be all up and running again? I remember this being talked about a long time ago but can't find the thread.

The Guide Data is up to 30th Dec, but it won't let me do much at all. Thanks for your help.

I was always under the impressing that it takes around 12-24 hours for account info to go through - it may be quicker nowadays.

12 hours looks good. I had a go at 06:35 and my account is now in good standing.

The Sky Tivo customer service people also take Sky HD and other Sky customer calls too though so he could be confused and thinking of how long it would take to activate a sub or do a sub change on a Sky smart card. Although they usually quote up to 4 hours for that to happen too.

To be honest the Sky Tivo customer service people just punch stuff in on their screens but don't seem to have much of a clue about what actually goes on back on the Tivo servers you get your data from. My understanding is that the Tivo servers only come up with new program data once every 24 hours on some kind of batch cycle and its quite likely that customer account records update in conjunction with that.

Also Sky hardly get any calls about Tivo now compared to 4 years ago so they have a lot less in the way of dedicated and expert Tivo handling staff. Four years ago they did have a one guy who was an exceptional Tivo enthusiast but I think he may have left or been reassigned to a team that don't take Tivo calls by now.
