Hi have had a problem for months and just dont know how to fix it. I have a Tivo2 which controls a Charter Comm's Scientific Atlanta 3250HD box.
Fairly often the TV simply stops controlling the 3250HD. The 3250HD just staying put on a channel. If I use the 3250HD's own remote the channel will always change correctly. So the priblem seems to point to the Tivo IR. I have used my cell phone to look at the Tivos IR senders and it does seem that the Tivo just stops flashing the IR's.
If I reset the Tivo, most often the IR will work again for a few days and then quit again.
Does anyone know of any Tivo problems like this and what the fix is - if any?
It is all a bit frustrating, I have considered just selling the Tivo2 with its lifetime licence and going over to Charters HD PVR. But I like the Tivo and just ask if anyone has any suggestions.
I have tried playing with the IR's position and various other tricks, but with no improvement. I have read that the 3250HD locks up when the IR is too strong. But it always works properly with it's own remote. I am just baffled.
