Are you talking about the childrens' cell phone?

If so, that's a great deal!

If not, ummmm, please move along folks, nothing to see here. lol

Children's cell phones wouldn't be sold by companies specializing in DVDs.

FIREFLY was a scifi TV series.

Well, to nitpick if I were talking about the phone I would have said "a" firefly. :D

I tried to fix the title but it didn't work.

PS you should watch the show!

I also picked this one up at Target...

Is this a worthwhile series to watch? Does it end gracefully, or does it leave a lot of loose ends hanging?

You'll certainly want to follow it up with the movie "Serenity."

I bought the set at Best Buy for $24.99 for a gift for someone the other day. It's on sale at Target? I already wrapped it and was going to ship it out today. Guess I can rebuy at Target and return to Best Buy and buy something else for another present with the difference. I should get the difference and buy myself a copy. :)

I got a copy for a gift on Amazon for $24 recently. I need to go try Target I guess, as I know 3 others who would love it. (Why are they too cheap to buy their own?)

Firefly is $19.99 at fye.com

http://shop.fye.com/product.aspx?sku=40231032

and then use promo code:MCOCT2006 to take 10% and free shipping. Make sure that you select budget shipping, because their site defaults to 3-5 days instead and you will get charged for it. My total came out to just over $19 including tax in CA.

How many, and are they in order? They did this a while ago, but my wife decided to kill the wishlist :(. So I recreated it, and hopefullly they are recording today, but I don't think it's all the episodes. Any idea if they are going to air the rest?

Sorry, if it's not in HD I won't watch it.
Another insight into how our world is turning into a self righteous wasteland of people filled with a very large false sense of self entitlement.

I've had HD since 2000 and I guess the newness for some people is just too much.

Funny thing about FF and HD, it doesn't look that much different in HD vs the DVDs. So much so that when they started airing them in HD and I caught the first few, I was let down by the quality.

I personally like the DVDs better. No commercials, and the menus make me feel warm and fuzzy. :)

I personally like the DVDs better. No commercials, and the menus make me feel warm and fuzzy. :)By all accounts, the DVDs were exceptionally well mastered. At the same time, the series was shot with an intentionally grainy look, to emphasize the "gritty" realism etc.; that grain may overwhelm any extra detail in an HD transfer. So it doesn't surprise me that the jump in quality would be less than with other examples.

They sure skipped some important ones. And even according to DVD order (generally considered to be much superior to Fox's random order or airing) they weren't really run in order. (Or at least not squential episodes in order).

DVD Episode Listing:

1 Serenity (1)
2 Serenity (2)
3 The Train Job
4 Bushwhacked
5 Shindig
6 Safe
7 Our Mrs. Reynolds
8 Jaynestown
9 Out of Gas
10 Ariel
11 War Stories
12 Trash
13 The Message

10 Objects in SpaceWow there's certainly at least one glaring continuity problem there: They played "Trash" without "Our Mrs. Reynolds"?! That would totally ruin the big twist when someone finally sees OMR!

10 Objects in SpaceNo offense, but your list is wrong. Fox originally aired 11 episodes. Trash, The Message, and Heart of Gold were never aired in the first run of the series. You're also missing a few.

The sequence they were originally aired in on the Fox network is:

The Train Job
Bushwhacked
Our Mrs. Reynolds
Jaynestown
Out of Gas
Shindig
Safe
Ariel
War Stories
Objects in Space
Serenity, part 1
Serenity, part 2

My list came from the Episode listing of www.tvtome.com , not how Fox aired them! Guess I should have stated that in the original message....

Actually the list you quoted is the way SciFi just re-ran 8 of the episodes.....

So one list I had was how www.tvtome.com listed them in order of episodes, and the other list I gave was the order in which SciFi just re-ran some of them the other day...
