Having previously noted a success at streaming .wmv files to my Xbox 360 here:

I guess its only fair that I point out that I failed getting the much-vaunted TVersity to stream multiple formats to my 360:

As you can see from the post, I'm going to wait to see how the TiVo Series 3 accomplishes this in conjunction with TiVo's Desktop Plus software. My suspicion is that the TiVo will do what I need and forgo the necessity to continue this kind of experimentation.

Too bad it didn't work. My working TVersity setup is:

PC (XP Home, not MCE) -> (wired) -> Linksys router -> (wired) -> Netgear wireless router as access point -> (wired) > XBox 360

I didn't have to do anything extra with the router, all my network settings are pretty much router default. I turned off the firewall on the PC. The Xbox found TVersity with no problem at all, but I couldn't stream at first, even with all the right drivers/patches. I was using WMP 10 at the time, I installed WMP11, and also re-installed FFDShow, and it's streaming. The only problem is that my PC isn't powerful enough to stream at a watchable resolution. So it's just a proof of concept for now, until I have time to go look for a new PC. The good thing with trying TVersity is it doesn't cost anything.

Dajad: Sorry to hear you couldn't get it working. Mine works, but to tell the truth, I still primarily use Tivo to watch transferred shows.
Tversity is cool in that I can watch Rocketboom and any other videoRSS feed (podcasts). However the 360 interface is limited to non-heirarchical display of all videos..so it's kinda ugly to sift thru several RSS load of video feeds.

Having said that, the 360 is still on the edge of becoming a Tivo S2 replacement for the non-cable recorded media activity in my house. (music, photos, RSSVideo).
