I'm having trouble getting my Tivo to work with wirless.

I've hooked it up properly, it can access yahoo weather via the wirelss and the games, and my mac's photo galleries, all via wireless. However, when I try to connect via wirless, it fails, giving me "Error N17" (which is OH, so useful)

I've been told that I need to get my ISP to open some port in their firewall, but I haven't seen any reference to this anywhere... Since the only other option is that there's some wierd hardware error on my TIVO, I'm really hoping you guys can help...

thanks.

Based on what I've seen of this problem, there are many possible causes for the dreaded N17 Negotiation Error.

It sounds to me like it's one of the following:

1) MTU issue (packet size sent by tivo is larger than mtu set in router to isp, therefore packets are being dropped.

2) A problem with the way that tivo sends web requests that can create an error with the ISP's proxy server (assuming that they are proxying web). The requirement is that they must have a web version 1.1 transparent proxy

3) Some issue in the local router, such as the 'web accelleration' or 'trend anti-virus' features which screw up the the tivo negotiation.

So is it likely an error in my wireless router? or in in ISP?
