well I was surfing the net and I saw this. They have the tivo name like this "Personal Video Recorder (TiVo®)" "•
Watch, pause, rewind and record live TV.
Schedule the recording of up to (2) TV shows at the same time. TV shows can be selected for recording using an easy to use guide. Recorded TV shows can be played back at a later time."
implying that they have tivo.
Should they change this on there website? What do you think?
This is the website http://www.vidabox.com/Products/MAX.htm

I would imagine it's a violation of the trademark to use it for that purpose.

Good find - methinks they're going to get slammed.
Any bets on how long before that page is changed/gone? I've got dibs on before COB Friday.

Is it possible this thing incorporates TiVo software into the TV recording aspect, and that's why they can use the name? Maybe the connection is legit?
I just wonder that type of TUNER it has....analog or digital?

But when you look at the pictures, it is CLEARLY Windows MCE's DVR software.

It's a dual analog tuner.

Oh, then with it becoming useless in the U.S. in just a few years, it's really quite a bargain at that price!

Didn't know what that'd look like, so never picked up on that.

Yeah, I have it on my computer. I use it for emergency back-up for really important shows, but it would be a pain in the butt to use in place of Tivo.

Analog tuners will be obsolete for OTA only. Cable will work fine with it.

Clearly misleading, but perhaps they could just change it to say: "If you like Tivo(tm) then you will LOVE Max (tm)" Then they wouldn't be claiming to be Tivo, but just comparing to Tivo which I think would be OK. Interested in seeing what change is made...

We don't even know if TiVo is aware of the problem.
