Surfing the Tivo site for whatever reason I found the following information on the 3 years prepaid for the price of 2 years:

** Gift recipient must redeem $300 TiVo Service Gift Card by 1/31/07 to qualify for a limited time offer. TiVo service pricing, terms and conditions subject to change without notice. See TiVo gift card terms and conditions for details.

Now I know this is in regards to the gift card but I am guessing that come 1/31/07 3 years prepaid will be back up to $349.

Just like rebates, it's in the company's interest to have a deadline for any deals. That doesn't mean that on 2/1/07 Tivo couldn't just start that same deal all over again. Only Tivo knows if they will continue the 299 3-yr deal or not.

This is true. However we have seen that limited time msg for awhile and I have finally found a date listed somewhere on Tivo.com.

i think that date has been there for a while, it's just well-hidden

Not that it's a big secret or anything, just not prominent. Probably a Holiday-related timetable.

TiVo promises that after the Holidays they will actually figure out how to sell their DVRs.

Anything is fair game I suppose.
