Overall the episode was meh, but I really liked the Goodfellas scene, and the B-word debate. "How come they can say it?" "They just can, okay"

"The Simpsons" have been good this season, and most of last season too. This was no exception, it felt like vintage Simpsons to me (in fact haven't they HAD an episode where Bart befriended Nelson before?)

The Goodfellas scene was funny, it took a few seconds before I recognized it though.

"Nelson never woke up... because he never passed out. He's over there."

I loved Homer's ending to the book he read for Lisa. :D

Bart and Nelson have been friends before and enemies (early on treaty signed by them both). Also, Lisa dated Nelson a few years back.

Guess they are getting too "old" to remember their previous adventures. Where is Comic Book Man when you need him?

I'm pretty sure those weren't the original versions of "A Horse with No Name" and "He's a Rebel." That's atypical for "The Simpsons"; usually they either use the original version or do a parody. This was the first (aired) episode of a production season, so I'm wondering if they've changed their music rights negotiating techniques for the new season.

I liked it, but was not wowed by it.

Liked the scene where Marge cracks Bart on the head with the wooden spoon.
"And if all your friends weren't going to jump off a building would you also not jump?" (or something close to that)

Also liked the Spidey and Octavius at the birthday party. Beating him with his own arms. Haw haw!!

It was alright. Good thing Homer wasn't reading Harry Potter to Lisa or that would have spoiled the book for me. :D

Lisa did mention the fact the she and Nelson dated when they worked on that kid news program.
