On my Series 2 TiVo, every single program recorded since Friday evening has come back as "Copy Protected" and I am not able to download it. Is this a permanent thing? If so, what's the big deal, and am I going to get a refund of the $25 that I spent on my TiVo Desktop Plus edition?

I do about 75% of my television watching on my iPod, because I'm away from home roughly 18 hours a day. This SERIOUSLY screws up how I watch television programs, and this removes a HUGE plus that TiVo had for me.

Can the TiVo Community recommend any solutions to help me? All I want to do is move my programs to my iPod, so that I can watch them, then delete them.

I suspect you have cable.

Your cable company, if that's the case, may be illegally flagging everything as copy-protected. This may be accidental. (OverTheAir TV stations have been known to make similar mistakes.)

I'd suggest contacting them and talking to one of their tech people. You might also want to speak with TiVoJerry or TiVoStephen. The guys here that actually work for TiVo have been known to have TiVo employees contact cable companies who've been doing this and set things straight.

PS
If all the shows you've been trying to record come from Pay Per View or a channel like HBO, the copy-protection may be legit, and there's little or nothing that can be done about it. By anyone.
