That was a very powerful first episode ending.

One thing I don't understand is why the cell leader was so suspicious that Darwin was visiting his parole officer...
Darwin was claiming that he was the mysterious fifth cell member who the cops hadn't identified. Therefore, it would make sense for him to avoid attracting police attention...like by violating parole.

Yeah, that confused me. The whole point was that he escaped identification, so why on Earth would they expect him to blow off his parole officer?
Then again, the criminal mastermind of the new cell was, well, no criminal mastermind!

I can't remember some of the details from last season -- I thought he blew his cover?

Just to some dead guys and to Al-Farik, who's in Super Top Secret Detention.
At least unless he escapes.
But what are the odds that he'll escape?

Just to some dead guys and to Al-Farik, who's in Super Top Secret Detention. What makes you think he blew his cover to Farik? I just rewatched last season's finale and Farik and Darwin never saw each other after Darwin and Christian got out of the truck.
Of course, Farik has someone providing him information (that's how he learned Serxner's name), but Darwin's involvement was a much more closely-held secret...

It seems there's a new episode of Sleeper Cell on every night this week. How is this series being presented?

One a day from the 10th through the 17th.
Though people with Showtime On Demand can get them all.

Not in HD! My SA8300HD is recording them every night, though.
Are there more than 8 eps, i.e. will there be one a week after the 17th?

The second season is just 8 hours.

Not that I mind it, but why does Showtime play this in 8 days rather than 8 weeks? Is this considered a miniseries?

They've referred to season 1 as a miniseries before, but I think that's jsut a term that's become synonymous with a strip run of a show.
Why 8 weeks? Why not 8 episodes over 12 weeks with reruns and special recap episodes? :)
I think at least partly it's to maintain dramatic tension. And this time of year is also pretty devoid of new material at times. So there's an opening for people to fill.
It might also be just to be a little different and gain some attention for it.

No problem for me -- exciting melodrama! I liked last year's, too. I missed the original run and saw it as a rerun, one ep a week -- I guess that's how I was used to seeing it.
