I don't know why, but this episode reminds me of the Love & Monsters episode of Doctor Who. It seemed like the main Torchwood characters played second string roles over the episode.

Not exactly an episode you'd expect from Torchwood. I guess even the BBC has filler eps.
Yet the ending was interesting.

I liked it, but is it just me, or do most of the episodes seem to focus more on death than aliens? Maybe that has something to do with Jack's "undead" status?

The next episode previews look interesting...
looks like we may learn more about Jack's past in this one

I really liked it; I think it's at least among the top 3 of the season so far.

According to the episode guide, the name of this episode was "Random Shoes" not "Invisible Eugene."

According to Wikipedia:
This episode was originally titled "Invisible Eugene" up until two weeks before it aired. It was then changed to its present title. It was still listed as "Invisible Eugene" in the Radio Times.
I like Random Shoes better.

I haven't watched it yet, so I was really just subscribing to this thread. :) I'm sure either title will make more sense once I've seen it.

I want to know how Eugene was able to become corporeal to save Gwen.
Also, I wonder who the 'buyer' was. I'm surprised that they didn't look for the buyer. Of course, it could be Jack was the buyer. :D Wonder what purpose Jack would have for the eye.
As far as next week's episode
Owen sleeps with another woman - the one from the past. I guess Gwen and Reese are still together, even though we don't see him. She made reference to him last episode about leaving her stuff to him. I guess Gwen and Owen are over. I wonder how she'll take Owen sleeping with the woman in red....

I like episodes like this. The ending was odd, very different for this series. Torchwood is already a very unique show, a big plus in my book. If they keep mixing up the episodes like this, it won't get boring like some other shows can.

Why'd Torchwood remove Eugene's possessions from his mother's house since it was simply a drunk driving death.
Gwen is qualified to do an autopsy? Why would she not have examined his stomach contents?

Anything even loosely alien-related belongs to Torchwood. Their mission statement seems to be similar to Daffy Duck's. "It's mine, ya understand? Mine, MINE, all MINE!" :D
Nope, I don't think Gwen is qualified. If they examined the stomach contents, there would not have been much of a story.

I agree with Pralix, it reminded me of Love & Monsters. I think I liked Love & Monsters better than this episode. Still, this episode wasn't too bad.
