TiVo to iPOD

I recently purchased a video iPOD and was wondering what software is best for transferring files on my TiVo to my iPOD.

Well, TiVo Desktop Plus 2.3a will do it and it is the officially supported solution.

You can also use TVHarmony AutoPilot, and there are some others.

I use the video iPod solution pretty heavily and find the convenience of TTG2.3 makes it possible. Surprisingly, my daughters probably watch more Tivo'd shows off the iPod than they do off the Tivo. I would not have predicted portable video would have this kind of role, but I think my situation is a special case.

I drive through "rush" hour traffic in the morning, driving my kids to school. It takes at minimum 1 hour and change to get the two to school. We sang song and stuff at first but it just didn't work after a while and they were driving each other nuts so I put a video iPod in the car with a flip down screen they could watch. Now they watch PBS shows Magic School Bus, Dora the Explorer, etc. and their mental juices are flowing rather than them just zoning out in the back seat.

TTG automatically moves over their shows and converts them. Every 3 days or so I bring the iPod in from the car and move the new stuff over. I have done a huge number of conversions using a huge number of tools.

This solution is a winner for me because it is for the most part turn key. I don't have very much time any more ti fiddle with complicated conversion processes.
