I'll have to see another episode or two to decide, but for now I'm going to have to go with Survivorman. The Man vs. Wild dude seems to have a different take on survival techniques. For example, in the only episode I have seen (he was in the Alps), he was running and jumping and climbing on hanging ropes across a ravine, basically expending a lot of energy. I know one of the things Les seems to talk about a lot is conserving your energy in a survival situation. I have no idea if either technique is right or wrong, but the Survivorman one seems to make more sense to me.

I've seen both. For some reason I prefer Man vs Wild.

Survivorman is far superior. On Man vs. Wild, Bear Grrls does bizarre things like going down a waterfall for no apparent reason.

At first I would have said I liked Survivorman much better, but after a few episodes I'll have to say I like them both equally for different reasons. Les takes the more conservative approach, which is almost definitely better than the balls out approach Bear takes, but Bear's show is pretty darn entertaining! I've never seen Les walk up to a dead Zebra that was killed earlier by lions, cut open the flesh, and start eating nasty raw meat right out of the thing. Heck, even the vultures were done with it.

My wife really debates how "real" Man vs Wild is. She questions wether or not he gets help or if things are staged....and I'm beginning to agree with her. A few too many times he's come up with a cut that needs some special plant or a stomach ache that needs some special sap. Plus, I think the Survivorman situations are more likely happen to your average Joe compared with the extreme locals for Man vs Wild.
One thing is for certain though, Byrre (or however he spells it) is absolutely nuts!
