Hi all,

I'm trying to match up my cable lineup with the ones on zap2it. I have a Time Warner Cable Ready package according to them, but some of the channels don't lineup with what they have on their site or what is on zap2it. Zap2it comes a lot closer, but misses MTV (channel 18) and TBS (63). Is there any place where you can search by lineup based on a specific channel. IE, I say MTV is on channel 18 and they tell me what cable package I have?

If this has something to do with your TiVo's lineup, you can notify TiVo that the lineup they offer you during Guided Setup is wrong.

Give them a complete list of your channels, and in two or three days they should fix it.

If this only involves the zap2it site, you'd have to look around there and find a "contact us" link there.

It does have to do with my TiVo lineup, but I heard that TiVo uses the same lineup as Zap2it, so I figured if I ould find the right lineup on there then I'd know what to call my lineup when doing guided setup. Our neighbors have the same package we do, but their channels show up on a different channel numbers than ours.

I'd find out from your cable company what the *correct* lineup is, and if your numbers don't match, tell them. It is very, very bizarre that you'd have different channel numbers on the same lineup as a neighbor.

It's possible your lineup is actually one from a different city. That is the case where I live, so you may have to try lineups from neighboring cities. I find it hard to believe a correct lineup isn't available to you unless it was recently changed.

You should have mentioned this to begin with.

As suggested above, this could either be because your cable feed is actually part of a different community's service than your neighbors', or because of one party using a cable box and the other not using one. (Some cable systems still have different lineups for the boxes than for "straight cable".)

How close does your neighbor live, by the way? How close are you to a town line, etc?

DO you have a cable box and they don't, or you don't and they do?

Neither one of us has a cable box and they live in the same building. This is "lifeline" cable and so far most of the Time Warner reps I talk to don't even know what that package is. The landlord is the one who ordered it and set up service for us, and I'm still trying to get the number he called to do this.

In the *same building* and you have different lineups?! If you take your TV to their apartment and connect it, do you have their lineup? It could be something weird with one of your devices - otherwise it really sounds like the landlord might be doing something funky.
