So I saw via Digg yesterday (http://digg.com/television/Firefly_Convention_Cancelled_at_Last_Minute) that apparently some Firefly convention that had been planned in Burbank, CA this weekend, was cancelled by the organizers just hours before the event was to begin!

Lo and behold what do I see via Digg tonight (http://digg.com/television/Serenity_Firefly_cast_turn_up_to_cancelled_convention) , but that Firefly stars Nathan Fillion, Alan Tudyk, Mark Sheppard, Jonathan Woodward, Christina Hendricks and Adam Baldwin have all turned up and are partying with fans at the hotel bar into the night at the cancelled convention.

Now, I don't know how true this is because at the moment I can't get the page to load, but if true, it's very, very cool.

All the firefly/Serenity boards are buzzing...with many pix & stories about the backup convention put together by the SoCal Browncoats.

It is soo cool the stars give back to the fans who suported the show.

A fan vid that was suppose to open the convention is posted on you tube.

from a fan,
"Nathan said how sorry he was to hear about our con being .... maybe another definition of 'con'.
He then shouted out, who is from Australia, one young lady came forward (she came from Australia for the convention but she also has family to visit in the area) anyway he gave her a gift from the box, I think it was a book that ties into his next project...
then he asked for others from Australia, those from Great Britain, and other far away places and he gave them stuff from his box....
Turns out Nathan had pulled out books and tapes and 'Serenity' money from his closet, dumped them in a box and gave them away!
I didn't try to get anything I was just marveling at how amazing he was to even think of doing this! So amazingly cool."
