will a life time subscritpion be honored if the tivo box is given as a gift?

I just a recieved a humax as a gift which has a lifetime subscription on it. If I call tivo; will I have to re subscribe or will the lifetime stay with the box?

The Lifetime Subscriptions stays with the TiVo box. If you already have an account with TiVo, you can call them and transfer this new box to your account. If you don't have an account, when you call TiVo, you should be able to create a new account and add this new TiVo to it.

Regardless of your account status, the Lifetime Subscription is tied to the motherboard of your TiVo and stays with the hardware for as long as it works.
