I am excited: just won a bid on a Toshiba SD-H400 DVD/DVR PVR TiVo series 2 80HR for $150.00. WITH a Lifetime subscription.
However, it did not come with cables or remote.
Will any tivo remote work with it?
Thank you,
Ellie

Most TiVos aren't DVD machines too, so no. Just any TiVo remote won't operate your whole unit.
It's possible the usual TiVo features may work, tho' even on that count I'm not sure.
I'll look around to see if I can find a remote for you. Will post again if I do.

Nope, only the original tivo remote. Get a one-for-all universal, using setup code DVD 0503 and these advanced codes:

Thanks guys. This is great. I may bid on the ebay one if y'all don't think that is too much money.
If so, I'll get a universal and follow the codes. Thanks ever so much,
Now I will enjoy my used toy even more.

I have a SD400 and with Edumud's help, I got the URC 6131 to do everything that the normal remote that came with the 400 can do, plus more. The 6131 is cheap too (around $10-15) and you can get it at Best Buy or stores like that. It will also control your TV, AV receiver and a lot more.
