If i cancel my tivo service and not connect it to the phone or the internet will i be able to watch the shows that i have in it or not?

Yes, but only that and use the LIVE TV BUFFER. Other than that, you have a paperweight.

Well, since you didn't state if you have a series1 or series2 the answer is "It Depends".

You will have much more functionality with an un-subbed S1 than a S2.

I'm considering getting new Series 2-Dual Tuner machine to replace my regular Series 2. I would like to place the old machine on another TV, but not have service on it. I would like to be able to use LIVE BUFFER feature. And also possibly use the record specific time/channel feature. Can you do this without Service?

on any S2 without a sub the only thing you can do is use the 30 minute buffer for trick play and watch any shows that are already on the TiVo

older S1 can record by time and date without a sub - I forget the details of which S1 - think it has to do with version 1.3 or prior

It depends on whether the unit originally shipped with 1.3 or earlier, not what verion is currently on it (likely 3.x).

Thanks for the info. With at least the live buffer feature I will go ahead and move it. If it does more, great. You get really used to that buffer!
