I have an original SAT T-60 that my ex-husband hacked several years ago. Just recently, I got a reboot loop and he replaced the hard drive with a 200 GB drive and PTV software. The first time he did this he forgot to reconnect the fan jumper and it overheated, going into a reboot loop again. Two weeks ago he tried again, and I'm getting weird random errors.

First it started with the occasional lockup and reboot during replay, with subsequent reboots when attempting to view that same spot of the show. That still happens, with no predictability.

Last night I noticed that if I hit the "Now PLaying" button from live TV, the live TV remains on screen instead of the TiVO blue background. If I then hit the main TiVo button, I'd get the blue screen. After watching a taped show and exiting, the video remained on screen, even after deleting the show.

Today, whenever I hit the TiVO button or the "Now PLaying" button, I still have the audio and video feed from LiveTV playing. I rebooted from the system restart screen and could get the blue screen if I hit the TiVO button, but as soon as I went into Live TV and then "Now PLaying" it was back to showing me Live TV feed (or the taped still if I came out of a taped show.

THe video quirks are merely annoying (it's hard to read the screen with video under it, but I can go into the screen from XM and just have audio) but the random reboots and inability to watch the rest of a show is infuriating. I wish there was a "jump to the just ebfore the end of the show and rewind" so I could go around the bad spot.

I can't imagine how this hard drive could be failing so soon. Any other ideas on how this happened and how to fix it?

Thanks!
