We've just got back from hols and discovered a bunch of corrupt recordings made on terrestrial channels last night. In each case the details look correct in Now Playing (i.e. the right descriptions and durations), but when we play them they terminate immediately - i.e. they go straight to the "Delete Recording" screen.

The progress bar shows the right duration when playback starts, but the cursor doesn't move along it.

This seems to have affected all of the recordings on terrestrial channels last night, but there were 2 recordings from satellite channels which were fine.

So far it looks as if everything recording before last night are all fine, and a recording made earlier tonight also looks fine.

Does this sound familiar to anyone??

Yes, this happens now and again.

Usually, I'd blame the Set-Top Box, but in this case...

It appears that if, when Tivo changes channels, the signal isn't there, the recording fails, even if the signal returns a second later.

Same thing happening to me - I do not have a dish, but all recordings are not working the last few days.

Yes, we get this from time to time with our Sky box. Fortunately (for us) the last time it happened there was a repeat of the programme later in the week.
Once in a while we have also seen the "blue screen" that indicates that the Tivo failed to change channel when using the Tivo remote, but that is also very rare.

I spent about a half hour on the phone with Tivo tech support - they confirmed that it is an issue with a programming patch which was released and they said my box will get another patch today to fix the issue....

This sounds like a patch which I'd be very much interested in - would you happen to have the Tivo tech support number to hand?

TIA

The number is to be found at www.tivo.co.uk, although I think what Tivo must mean is that there was a fault in the program guide data they sent out as they aren't upgrading the actual software on the Tivos these days.
