Ok I'm new at this and I hope I'm doing this right and in the right forum.
I have an S2 with LT Sub. I have had it over three year with no problems :)
Should I upgrade the drive to keep it going or just leave it alone? And if i do upgrade will I lose the LT Sub?

no advice on what to do, but the lifetime is tied to the box/motherboard kina thing, not the hard drive
upgrade the hard drive and lifetime will remain
keep the old hard drive to pop back in if something happens though

Sounds like you are not wanting more space, you are just concerned about the ago of the unit?
Either way, you can upgrade the drive now to prevent a drive failure in the future, and enjoy more space at the same time.
The LT is stored on the box, not the drive.

Upgrade the drive to the smallest size you can afford, that is at least as big as the drive you have.

Right it is the age I'm thinking about. The right question might be how to make this LT Sub last as long as I can. I'm getting a new Sony SXRD 55 inch 1080p tomorrow can't wait. Now to move my LT sub to a new S3 or not?????? I got the COX BOX moto dvr dct6416. Nothing can even come close to TiVo so far. But it is a lot on money for the new box and transfer of
LT. After spending 3grand on a new TV. Any ideas on what to do would help big time.
Thanks.......

If it were me, I would definitely transfer the sub to an S3.
