How does the S3 decide which show to "cancel" when you manually change channels while it is recording 2 shows?

I have TIVO suggestions enabled. It is almost always recording something and usually recording 2 shows.

When I try to change channels it will ask if I want to cancel the current recording but it doesn't offer a choice of which show to cancel. In fact, it always seems to allow cancelling the show I asked to record and continues recording the TIVO suggestion.

Is there something I don' t know about how to pick which to cancel?
Is this a known bug?

I guess one option is to turn off the automatic recording of suggestions but that still won't let me pick which of the 2 shows to kill.

thanks
bruce

If it's recording a *suggestion*, it shouldn't ask at all, it should just change the channel.

In your specific case of recording one thing you asked for and a suggestion, it *should* just switch to the suggestion-tuner and change channels on that.

But there may be a bug.. and I say this as someone who has only owned S1s.. (but have used DirecTivos at a friend's house.)

i notice that if you hit live tv it changes between tuners..

if tuner 1 is on channel 9
and turner 2 is on 28
you can use the live tv button as flashback

each will keep a 30 min buffer

if you on channel 28 and you change the channel you will lose that buffer but channel 9 wll keep its buffer

one dumb thing is this

tuner 1 is on 3 --watching--
tuner 2 is on 9

you start on channel 3
flipping channels going up
when you hit channel 8 it will be

tuner 1 is on 8 --watching--
tuner 2 is on 9

tuner 1 will start to buffer channel 8
tuner 2 wil still have its buffer for channel 9

you hit up one more time
tuner 1 is on 8
tuner 2 is on 9 --watching--

it will switch to tuner 2 show its buffer
and tuner 1 will contuinue buffering channel 8

now hit up agian
tuner 1 is on 8
tuner 2 is on 10 --watching--

you lose your channel 9 buffer and you are now switching channels with tuner 2

it sould go back to tuner 1 in a prefect world
it would be also less confussing if tivo showed which tuner you are on and numbered them

I've had my S3 up for less than 24 hours and this issue is bothering me too. Does anyone know if there's a fix available, or one coming down the pipe?

If you ask me, the obvious answer is to STAY on the tuner you started on. Perhaps indicate that the same channel is on the other tuner (w/live buffer, or being recorded), but DO NOT switch tuners.
