I want my Tivo 3 to record HD movies. I tried to create a wishlist with "HD" or "HDTV" as keywords. No hits.
Does anybody have an idea how to create an HD wishlist?

I'd like to do the same. I don't think this is possible. This has been covered in other threads and I think the summary was that the current Tivo software doesn't allow you to constrain a wishlist only to HD content.

I dont have an S3 yet, but I seem to remember someone saying that you could use keyword "HDTV". Can anyone confirm how?

Keyword HDTV wishlist brings up tons of stuff, my Tivo was frozen for minutes just trying to display them all. Not worth trying.

This issue has come up several times before. Bottom line is right now for S3 it's not possible. It certainly seems to be one of the most requested features that should be implemented by Tivo, especially since HD DirecTivo can do it.

"one of the most requested features.." well, ONE OF, of course..

But I think free space indicator, conflict management, etc., come up higher on the popularity contest.

I'd put this above FSI for sure. Don't know what conflict management people are asking for, it's working fine for me.

The single most inexplicable omission from the S3. My HR10 can do this.

FSI: Use the Tivo suggestions.
Confict management: it works pretty well, esp. with two tuners. Just put shows that have re-runs (South Park, etc) above shows that don't (CSI), and you are golden. Heck, this strategy worked fine even with my single tuner S1.

I guess a workaround for a HD movie wishlist: create a wish list for all movies, and then go thru them and delete everything that's not on a 7xx channel number :) (SF Bay Comcast anyway).

Shouldn't that be the other way around? Put shows without re-runs at the top of the list so they will get preference, and the shows with re-runs at the bottom, so the alternate showings will get selected if they conflict with the non re-run shows.

Yes, of course; that's what happens when I try to explain stuff before lunch :)

Sorry, I was trying to be brief rather than rehashing the same arguments.

Using Suggestions is a *WORKAROUND* to the lack of a real FSI. I have to add up suggestions + anything I watched and deleted recently (- anything that else started recording). There should just be a real FSI, just like there is on my non-Tivo hard drive/DVD recorder. Yes, I have to change bit rates to find out what the free space is at THAT bit rate, but it's still better than not having one. Though I will admit that FSI is harder now with a bazillion digital/analog combinations. (On my S1s, I record _mostly_ at basic).

For conflict management, I actually meant multiple-machine conflict management, to have one master list of SPs, and have it automagically record on an 'available' tuner. This would simulate a 4 tuner Tivo, for 2 dual-tuners hooked together, for example.

Yeah, this is a noticeable omission from the S3 - no way to filter on HD content.
