Video anomalies while FFing

I have noticed this frequently. When I am fast forwarding, the unit has frequent video errors. They look similar to that split second colored lines you see when rebooting older tivos. Is this normal in an S3? Bug?

I see that when watch SD programming. I figure it's an artifact of the 480p un-convert.

I noticed last night that the video anomaly causes weird time shifting. I'll rewind through the anomaly and stop, and it appears to be about 3 seconds before my show resumes. Lo and behold, there's another 30 second commercial. Could this just be the FF/RWD time jumping reported in other threads?
