Hello Everyone,
I have 2 zippered HR10-250's but after much searching I have been unable to get the answers that I require. I want to know how to copy shows between them and patch them with a permanent 30 second skip. The Zipper script states in the instructions that it adds a permanent 30-sec skip but it didn't work or stopped working after all was said and done. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

What do you mean it stopped working - the 30-sec skip or the zipper install?

The 30-second skip which is supposed to automatically be configured by the script is not working. I have read that this is a common issue after running Zipper but I have not seen a fix to re-enable the automatic 30-sec skip every time it reboots.

s-p-s-3-0-s while playing back a pre recorded show. This toggles it on and off.

Thanks, but I know how to do it manually and am looking to have a script or patch automatically do it at startup.

use at your own risk, worked for me, may cause undesired side effects, I have NO support
DISABLE ENCRYPTION, ENABLE 30-SECOND SKIP AND BACKDOORS:
rw
cp /tvbin/tivoapp /tvbin/tivoapp.orig
cd /tvbin
mv tivoapp tivoapp.tmp
cp tivoapp.tmp tivoapp
chmod 755 tivoapp
echo -ne "\x3C\x02\x00\x00" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=1602412
echo -ne "\x10\x40\x00\x2b" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=6713220

Thanks, I'll give that a shot!
Has anyone been able to mrv transfer shows from one HR10-250 to another?

You cant MRV shows between 2 HR10-250's. The best you can do is extract and reinsert, which cannot be discussed here. The Zipper skips the 30-sec skip patch only if your software is older than 3.1.5f. An upgrade to 6.3 would also remove the tivoapp patch that includes 30-sec skip. The tivoapp patch locations are different for different software versions, so I would be hesitant to apply the patches above until you know if they apply to your particular software. If they don't, you could brick your tivo.

Thanks for the info, I'll do a little more research on it as I have 6.3a on my HR10-250. Also, I did find out how to transfer shows from one Tivo to another using mfs_ftp although I have yet to try it.

Hi ed413,
Can you please tell me which tivo you are using this patch on and what software version is running on it.
Thanks.
