USB ports are not active on the DTivos.

Since you have a Media PC, you have a tuner card. You could use the composite or S-video/composite audio connections from the D-TiVo to the tuner card inputs to capture video, but it will be in real time.

Is there any sort of 'copy protection' scheme enabled when doing this? I have a standalone Sony DVD-burner that refuses to record when hooked up via composite or s-vid, and not sure if it's the DirecTivo, or the Sony giving me the probs.

Vanbo, I haven't heard anything about that since I assumed analog copying would be allowed.

You might want to look up your SONY burner model @ Video Help (http://www.videohelp.com/) to see if other users are experiencing that issue and if so whether they've found a workaround.

Good luck.
