Cloning Software vs dd

Needing to clone my Series 1 hard drives, I've used the dd commands in the past, but was wondering about using regular pc disk cloning software like Ghost or something similar.

Will those programs work or since the are windows based am i risking losing the TIVO image.

Any help would be appreciated,

Use Winhex. It's very fast. Ghost won't work. Winhex is fornesic software, runs under Windows and will copy anything byte by byte.
