Help, tivo not booting after daft mistake

Arghh,

I installed tivowebplus and was trying to get it to start automatically. I added the path to the executable to rc.init instead of rc.init.author and now my tivo hangs on the frist powering up screen

can i pull out the drive and attach it to a pc to edit the file to remove the entry?

what disc do i need to mount the drive so i can see it?!

Help, my wife is going to kill me !!!

Yes, you will need to pull the primary drive and use one of the plethora of boot cd's to mount the active partition ( partition 4 or partition 7 )

Normally the primary drive would be the one jumpered as master in the TiVo.

All you need yo do is make the rc.sysinit file executable again ( chmod +x rc.sysinit )

Normally the primary drive would be the one jumpered as master in the TiVo.And if like mine they were jumpered as cable-select, it's the one on the end of the ribbon cable.
