I have the three LNB dish with four feeds coming into the house (I can have up to four separate receivers). Is it possible to have two receivers on the same single feed if I ensure only one is active at a time? Two of the feeds are going to the DTivo in my office. 90% of the time at least one of these feeds is not being used to watch or record on. I want to be able to use that feed in another room and thus rid myself of complaining children.

That's not really a viable way of adding more receivers. You should look into getting a proper multiswitch (i.e., a 4x8 or 5x8 model) to expand the number of feeds from the dish. Make sure the multiswitch is cascadable and connect the four outputs from the dish to the four inputs on the multiswitch. Connect the four existing feeds to four of the output connections on the multiswitch and add another coax line to the new location.

if I ensure only one is active at a time? The only way to ensure a satellite receiver is in-active is to unplug it. Pressing the power button or putting it in standby only turns off the video outputs. It is still activing receiving information from the satellite. mr.unnatural gave you great advice.
