I have a Tivo Series2 with the built in Ethernet port. I'm running Tivo Desktop on one of my PC's. I can transfer files from the Tivo to the PC just fine. Everything works fine so this isn't a "help me set it up" post.

Here is the question: Is there any way I can get to the shows on the tivo and delete them from my PC. It is kind of annoying to go to the other side of the house and manually delete the files on the tivo once they have copied over to the PC. Tivo desktop doesn't delete the files after x-fer, it just copies them.

Using Windows XP if OS platform is needed for any ideas.

Nope. This is also a recommended feature that many of us would like to have with MRV after transferring a show to another TiVo in the house.

Bummer. Still #1 on my personal Tivo issue list then.

Hey! Get in line! :)

You are definitely right on there. Like I said, it would be nice to have this feature not only from the PC, but from other TiVos using MRV, and also maby the ability to do this online.

Get a SlingBox. Not only can you delete shows from your PC, you can do it from anywhere in the world!

Yes but can you delete the files that are actually on the Tivo HD? Probably not. Still have to go to the Tivo unit itself to delete them.

I can already delete files that are on my fileserver computer itself from anywhere in the world, AND watch my shows that are on my fileserver from anywhere in the world without having to drop the cash for a SlingBox.

You can delete any and every file that is on the TiVo HD. Anything you can do holding the TiVo remote in your hand can be done with the SlingBox.
